Come to this workshop and we will MEND, ALTER, or PATCH that shirt!!!! Queer people are so often at the forefront of fashion, yet so often poor?? Turns out these things go hand in hand! Workshop participants will also receive materials and techniques to enhance clothing with patch making.

Follow along the entire process of putting on drag makeup from Molly Mormen and paint your own face. Use whatever makeup you have from your home and transform your face with bold makeup. Learn about the heroes that used drag as a form of activism and its history within the LGBT community.

Paper Sculptures: Making Meaningful Connections with Steph Wadman + Rachelle Rudolph

Art can be a powerful means of communication, used to convey complex emotions, ideas, and concepts in a way that words often cannot. Using templates designed by Step Wadman, workshop participants will be use folding, cutting, and ripping techniques to build paper sculptures. These sculptures can be used to communicate with other people through eye contact, speech, and hearing. Add design and color to your sculpture to provoke a range of emotion and thought.

Guided by Nick Paddock and V+V artist Jackie Fischer, they exchange techniques, stories, and laughter while providing guidance. As each bracelet takes shape, so does the sense of camaraderie and connection among the creative participants.

Drew is a part of the Teaching Artist Program, where V+V artists are trained to develop, prepare, and present lessons based on their personal artwork.
