Spring Flower Arrangements with Dean Alan Muir + Katie Hefele

Learn the basic techniques of floral arrangement and create your very own bouquet to take home as a keepsake! Using the principles of floral design, you will discover your own unique floral design aesthetic and style. This specific workshop will focus on creating a Spring Bouquet arrangement using artificial flowers and foliage.

Dean Alan Muir is a multi-modal artist living in Mt. Washington, KY. He writes and produces pop music that inspires people to live with authentic joy. Dean works with the Kentucky Governor School for the Arts, an intensive summer arts program that offers instruction in 9 arts disciplines to high school students.

Katie Hefele is a V+V artists and TAP teacher. Katie loves to work in grids and constructing complex imagery based off of drawn armatures. Inspired by stained glass designs and logic-based imagery, she begins the drawing process with outlining and mapping the entire surface. She then carefully applies color to balance the movement of the viewer’s eye through the geometric panels. Her work is a wonderful mix of color, constraint, and optimism. Each defined area in the picture plane creates another chance to reflect and move towards creating a more complex understanding of color or mood.
