KNOW YOU’RE LIMITLESS

At Visionaries + Voices, we believe that everyone is an artist! We welcome individuals at every stage of their career and at any skill level – all you need is the passion to create.

Artists accomplish great things in the studio every day: making art, building community, and breaking barriers. We offer a variety of tracks to help artists identify and accomplish their goals. Choose one (or more!) to start your journey at V+V:

DEVELOP + EXPLORE
Explore the possibilities of art! Settle into studio life while you experiment with materials and find your style. Artists new to V+V typically start with this track for the first year.

SOCIAL STUDIO

The best thing about art is community! Artists on the Social Studio track will foster relationships with other artists, work on collaborative projects, and build confidence.

CRAFT + MAKER

Selling art takes a lot of practice. This track encourages artists to hone their skills while they work towards selling pieces in V+V stores or at local markets.

DESIGN

For experienced, highly motivated artists with a strong body of work. Artists on the design track will work with V+V’s creative director to build collections that may become licensable designs, merchandise, and more.

EDUCATION

Our Teaching Artist Program provides artists with opportunities to teach lessons in local classrooms and community centers. Artists are eligible to pursue the education track after one year of attendance. Then they will work with staff to develop lesson plans for summer camps, workshops, and more.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

For artists with a developed style and body of work. Professional practice prepares artists and their work for exhibition with artist statements, exhibition proposals, artist talks, etc.

FAQs

How much does it cost to attend V+V?

Individuals served by Hamilton County DDS may receive Medicaid waiver services, and often, those waivers will pay for a person's time at V+V. However, for people not covered by waiver services, we offer an affordable out-of-pocket rate.

How much time will I spend in the studio?

The time you spend in the studio depends on individual preference and transportation schedules. On average, artists spend 1-6 hours at the studio 1-3 days a week.

What type of art can I make at V+V?

Artists have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry making, knitting, crochet, sewing, printmaking, instant photography, and more.

Do you require a portfolio review?

We love to see samples of work to get a feel for what you like to make, but portfolios are not required to enroll.

Do you teach lessons?

Not usually. We offer an open, self-directed studio environment where staff assist with mobility and personal care needs. Although there are no formal lessons, studio staff have backgrounds in art and can assist individuals exploring a new medium or seeking advice on their personal projects.
