JOY FUEL

Visionaries + Voices presents Joy Fuel, an inclusive workshop series and gallery exhibition celebrating the diverse LGBTQIA+ community in Greater Cincinnati. Our accessible programming provides a safe space for individuals to express themselves creatively, amplifying every shade of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. Through curated workshops encompassing various art forms, we honor the intersectionality of disability and LGBTQIA+ identities, ensuring all talents and perspectives are valued.

Joy Fuel is made possible by the ArtsWave Pride grant and the generosity of tens of thousands of contributors to the annual ArtsWave Campaign, the region’s primary source for arts funding.

Join us at Visionaries + Voices Northside Studio for free, all ages and abilities workshops, no registration required ! We’ve curated teaching artists from diverse creative backgrounds, including V+V artists, to co-lead workshops featuring various topics and adaptive art-making techniques.

GALLERY EXHIBITION AND OPENING

ICONS: QUEER WORSHIP OF CELEBRITY

FRIDAY, MAY 17th, 5-8PM
Organized by guest curator Josh Porter
Featuring artists Claire Thompson+ Scott Walker

This exhibition takes our understanding of a Byzantine Catholic icon and applies that to contemporary pop culture celebrities. In ICONS: Queer Worship of Celebrity, these artworks and celebrities become icons in their own right; serving as images of worship and devotion for those in the LGBTQ+ community. From Judy Garland to Lindsay Lohan, this exhibition exists as a place for visitors to immerse themselves in the wondrous glory of those who have defined pop culture. Exhibition runs through June 28th.
