Accessible Expressions Ohio is a statewide, juried, visual arts exhibition and tour adding to the richness of cultural diversity throughout Ohio. Since 1996 the program has provided professional development opportunities for artists to create, exhibit and sell their art, recognized all ability levels, and presents art by people with disabilities in inclusive settings.
Beginning September 1st of each year, artists are invited to respond to a call for entries with their artwork to VSA Ohio. Adjudicators determine which artwork will be featured in the show.
Visionaries & Voices artists that are exhibiting artwork are Joel Whittaker, Mike Weber, Danika Swagler, Manny Love, Michelle Glaze, and Mike Dezarn.
The artwork is exhibited at the opening ceremony and a second adjudication is conducted to determine the first, second and third place winners in youth, emerging, and professional categories, as well as Best in Show and People’s Choice.
Following the opening ceremony, the artwork is divided into tours and travels around Ohio. Sales of artwork are encouraged at the opening ceremony as well as each tour site.
VSA Ohio is a statewide service organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities, creatively and inclusively, through the arts.
