Visionaries and Voices (V&V) is pleased and honored to announce the art exhibition “Black & White & In Between.”  This exhibition conjoins the solidarity between groups of people who have expressed concern about socio-political and personal life issues and find solace and a voice with expression in art.  Important ideas aren’t just black and white but contain many grey areas that matter in our lives such as isolation, discrimination, health concerns, politics and religion, just to name a few. It has been through hearing the artists at V&V tell their own personal stories through art on issues in the world and personal life matters that inspired the theme.  This exhibition is intended to document these concerns and opinions are universal and relevant to us all.

V&V is influenced by the work & tireless efforts of the co-curator Dr. Saad Goshn, a socio-political artist and M.D. Professor; Director of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Veterans Affairs Hospital.  He started and curates the annual Save Our Souls (S.O.S.) exhibition and the “Book of Poems and Drawings on Peace and Justice,” which both explore socio-political issues allowing artists to express themselves. Cincinnati based professional artists, such as the distinguished Farron Allen, Holland Davidson, Michelle Red Elk, Matt Reed, Julie Baker, Andy Fausz, and Lisa Jameson, will be exhibiting their own artwork. In addition, the artists of V&V will share their unique perspectives on this theme as the unifying element.  All of humanity is of concern and it is our goal to unite as one voice in support of social awareness and to become a catalyst for change.

Our venue at the Visionaries & Voices Galleries will give artists a voice and an opportunity to share awareness of the issues that they personally face but also create a conversation about them within the community. Many artists share the same concerns and make art about their lives and world affairs. While balancing our lives, observing the world news and speaking out about it we become a vehicle for changing the human condition. We create the grey areas.
